and i was dreading she'd say something bad.... 
She said that during circle time today they were clapping the sounds of different words and then she asked if anyone thought they'd be able to write a word on the board by themselves. She said the word was cat and apparently Max's hand was first up. She picked him and he sounded it out C A T and wrote it on the board. She said he didnt hesitate or anything- like he already knew it. I told her that me and him do a lot of writing at home and he knows the words mummy, daddy, Alfie, cat, dog, nanny, pig and fox. She said she could always tell the ones that do stuff at home with their children.
I was very proud of Maxie. She said he's ahead of a lot of his class (and he's one of the youngest!)
