Maxie

Max has learnt how to climb into Alfie's cot now! Uh oh!! We found out when we heard Alfie crying... went in to see Max sitting in Alfie's cot on Alfie's leg. I figured he was going from his bed & climbing up into the cot. So i moved the cot & left them both in their room. Came back in a while later to see Max in the cot again! But this time stroking Alfie's hair! Bless him!
I told him he's not allowed to get into Alfie's cot so lets see if he does it again!

Sharing a bedroom!

We decided that Alfie would start sleeping in with Max from Monday night. Alfie went to bed later than usual but he went down to sleep well. When we put him into bed, Max woke up. Max got out of bed & went to look at Alfie, turned to me & said, "Bye mum" and then blew Alfie a kiss & got back into bed. Alfie slept right through til 7.30am. I heard him crying this morning when he woke up soDru went in & Max was sitting next to the cot, telling Alfie "Shhhhh" then then baby talking to him... It was so sweet! Max is starting to look after his little bro!

Mother's Day 2010

My day started off with Max coming in to wake me up with a card in hand & a big grin. I had Maxie cuddles in bed whilst eating my toast & strawberries-most of which Max ate. I got some lovely tulips & daffodils. When Alfie got up, I had some lovely Alfie cuddles before getting ready to go to Odds Farm. We had a lovely day at the farm. We saw bunnies, pigs, cows, goats, horses, donkeys, sheep, ducks, chickens, piglets & lambs. Max's favourite animals were the chickens. He clucked at them & copied them by bopping his head like they were.Alfie wasn't really interested in the animals but he was happy enough sitting in his buggy, watching everyone. Max was quite impressed by the goats & started copying their baa-ing but wasn't too impressed when the one next to him did it loudly & scared him! Lol! Alfie & Max were big boys when we had lunch. Alfie sat in a high chair for the first time for lunch & Max sat at the table. They were both so well behaved! We went to the park where Max had loads of fun (as did Dru- big kid!!) playing on the tractor. When we left, we let both boys choose a cuddly toy from the gift shop. Alfie like a rabbit one best which we named Little Alf. Max got a chick which he named Quack Quack. We came home & then Mum & Nicole came over. We all went for a meal and again, both boys done me proud and were well behaved so well. I've had the best Mothers Day!

Alfie Lee Thompson - 18/08/2009

I had a very easy pregnancy with Alfie (unlike my pregnancy with Max). I had low iron but other than that it was all hunky dorey! When i was 38weeks (or thereabouts) i had a consultant appointment to discuss the birth & i was told that Alfie was measuring up big so i was sent for a growth scan. They told me that he was very big & they didnt want me to have a vaginal delivery (with Max i had a 3rd degree tear & they didnt want to risk it again!). I was given a week or so to decide if i wanted to follow their advice or go ahead with the vaginal birth. I decided to opt for a c-section & was booked in for 18th August at 9am - The day after my due date! So we got everything ready & my mum stayed over the night before my section was due so she could have Max. Midnight on 18th my contractions started. I decided to go and have a bath to ease the pains. By 12.30 the contractions were 3 mins apart. We decided i couldnt wait anymore so at 12.45 Dru drove me to the hospital. We arrived at 1am and were taken to a room for me to be examined. They told me that i had a few options- i could wait until 9am for my planned section, have an emergency section or go for a vaginal birth. They strongly advised that i go for an emergency section. So i was taken down to theatre, given pain relief & talked through the proceedure. I was so tired as i hadnt had any sleep & i was doing my best to fight falling asleep. I was talking to Dru to keep myself awake! I don't remember too much of it as i was drugged up to the eye balls! I remember a strange feeling when they pulled him out. I could feel him inside & then not.... It was a very odd sensation! Alfie was finally born at 2.34am and weighed 9lbs 13 (so not as big as they made out!!) So my beautiful baby wanted to enter the world on his terms and i'm so glad he did!

Max Richard Thompson - 14/08/2008

When i was pregnant with Max, i was forever up & down the hospital.
He was a big baby on all the scans so i had about a million growth scans. I was also getting loads of pains throughout the pregnancy so i was in & out of the hospital all the time.
I have a slipped disc in my back & Max was causing lots of pains so they decided to induce me early.
I went in on the Monday evening & they inserted the pill thing but nothing....
Tuesday then gave me a sweep & another pill but nothing..
Wednesday (isn't this starting to sound like a Craig David song? ) they look me down the the labour ward. They broke my waters & put me on a drip to speed up my contractions at 9am.
By 12 mid-day i was in agony! So i had an epidural.
The pains eased up after the epidural so it was a waiting game....
At 11pm i was fully dilated & wanted to push but midwife was seeing someone else so i had to wait.
11.30 came & in came the midwife. She topped up my epidural & then i was told to push. Then an alarm starting going off & about 10 doctors & nurses rushed in. Max's heart rate was dropping & they were worried. They finally managed to get his heart rate back to normal & i pushed again.
They then told me that his body was facing the wrong way (he was head down but sideways if that makes sense?).They said that they would need to use forceps to get him out.

I was rushed to theatre (followed by Dru in the whole outfit thing which was quite funny!!).
To be honest i cant remember too much from there other than i screamed really loud as they pulled him out!
He weighed 8lbs15 and was born on Thursday 14th August at 1.44am.
He was (and still is) so perfect. My angel!
